About Oblong Works

Hello, I'm Patrick Dinnen and Oblong Works is my business. I'm a Peterborough based building designer. I'm BCIN certified, meaning I can create building design packages for building permits anywhere in Ontario.

My particular focus is on urban infill project sometimes knows as "gentle density". Backyard homes (aka granny flats or garden suites) are now allowed and even encouraged in Peterborough and many other municipalities. As are Secondary Suites (in-law suites or basement apartments).

I specialize in creating liveable, high-quality spaces within local zoning regulations and building code.
